Art Therapy
As a trained Art Therapist, I facilitate counseling sessions that utilize the process of art making, to meaningfully explore the self as a way reflect, integrate, grow, and heal. This process is supportive in developing a deeper understanding the self, one’s own history, strengths, challenges, and internal wisdom; as well fosters stronger communication within the therapeutic relationship.
This approach is guided by Art Therapy directives, which are a set of instructions provided by me the therapist, to provide you, the client, with a structured way to interact with art materials and explore themes specific to your own wellness journey. Directives will often be provided as homework and will be processed and discussed in following session. Art Therapy is evidenced-based and is foundational to my therapeutic approach.
I am in compliance with the ethical standards of the American Art Therapy association, as well as receive supervision from a Board-Certified Art therapist.
